Our Winter Retreat is once again quickly approaching and I would really appreciate it if you (or your youth) would consider joining us. In my eight years of youth ministry, both here at Wintonbury and back in Torrington, I have found that when we get a large percentage of our youth to attend these weekends, that they tend to be one of the best catalysts for expanding our ministry. There is just something about spending almost 40 continuous hours with each other worshiping our God, diving into His Word and just spending quality time with each other that enables us to go deeper as a group upon our return. If you have any doubt about the value of this reteat, I'd love for you to give me a chance, at your convenience, to tell you why I feel like this event is always the most important event of the year for our Ministry.
So here are the details at this point:
This year Wintonbury's Sr. Highers will be joining up with my good friend Joe Hart, Director of Student Ministries from Wethersfield Evangelical Free Church and his Sr. High Youth to run our own retreat on the weekend of Feb 14-16 up at Camp Spofford in Spofford, NH. I am pleased to announce that this year's speaker will be Jake Scott from Grace Community Church in Chelmsford, MA. Jake is a classmate of Joe Hart's at Bethel Seminary of the East. We are in the process of finalizing details to bring Chris & Dave Bugnacki of I am Clay to lead worship for us.
This year's retreat will cost $140. If you are interested in joining us you will need to register using the link below by Sunday, Jan 19th. Any remaining balance must be turned in by Sunday, Feb 9th.
