You Are the Window:
Enneagram Community Spiritual Retreat

“You are the window through which you see the world.”
 ~ George Bernard Shaw

Enneagram Portland invites you to this thoughtful, contemplative weekend of “Enneagram R & R” – Relaxation of our types and Remembering our spiritual states.

In the lovely, peaceful environment of Still Meadow Retreat Center, you will have time and space to explore the inner landscapes of the nine Virtues and Holy Ideas,
as well as the outer landscapes of forest, creek, and meadow. Walk the labyrinth, sit under an old apple tree, join with like-spirited companions for soul-warming meals and soul-searching discussions.

What is the window through which you see the world? And what does it mean to “relax your type?” Begin by stepping outside the busy, noisy stimulation of daily life, relaxing the body, and giving yourself the gift of time to remember your essential self.

Our weekend together will include teachings and discussions on the nine Holy Ideas and the nine Virtues, guidance for self-reflection, and time for drawing, writing, photography, walking, dancing...whatever opens your window to a more expansive view. And no retreat is complete without some time for laughter, levity, and Ennea-tainment for balance!

This retreat is open to anyone who knows their Enneagram type.

What You'll Want to Know...

Dates:
Begins at 6:00 pm on Friday, May 30 and ends at 1:00 pm on Sunday, June 1

(Note: If you plan to commute, the hours are Friday 6:00 - 9:00 pm; Saturday 9:00 am - 9:00 pm; Sunday 9:30 am - 1:00 pm)

Location:  Still Meadow Retreat Center is about a half hour from Portland, off of Highway 224, just beyond the small community of Carver. Bedrooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. We recommend staying at Still Meadow for the full retreat experience, but it is close enough to Portland that commuting is a reasonable alternative. Meals are fresh, local, and healthy; vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options are available upon request.

About the retreat fees:
We are grateful that you have chosen to be generous with yourself and others in joining this retreat community. In many wisdom traditions, the practice of Generosity forms the foundation of spiritual practice, and helps us recognize and practice our natural interconnectedness. As life gives generously to us, so we give generously back to life. We belong to what we support, and what we support nourishes us.

Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche says that Generosity is a practice of Compassion:
" When a person develops real compassion, he is uncertain whether he is being generous to others or to himself because compassion is environmental generosity, without direction, without 'for me,' and without  'for them.'  It is filled with joy, spontaneously existing joy, constant joy in the sense of trust, in the sense that joy contains tremendous wealth, richness…. It is the attitude that one has been born fundamentally rich rather than that one has to become rich… Compassion automatically invites you to relate with people, because you no longer regard people as a drain on your energy.  They recharge your energy, because in the process of relating with them you acknowledge your wealth, your richness…"

With this practice in mind and heart and action, we have set our retreat fees to include only the basic costs of meals, rooms, facilities, and materials. We will be providing a Generosity Basket at the end of the retreat for your own personal decision about an offering for the facilitators. There is no obligation to give.
The practice of generosity invites us to reflect upon what is really important to us.
As one teacher put it, "give until your heart feels full.”
