Deborah Pierce, AIA CAPS, is an award-winning architect and author of The Accessible Home: Designing for All Ages and Abilities, a book which describes the decisions and designs of people living with a wide range of disabilities.  The book illustrates conclusively the ways in which real people, collaborating with innovative designers, can remove physical barriers and restore the grace of daily living. For people living with the results of catastrophic injury and chronic illness, or simply the normal process of aging, The Accessible Home gives inspiration, ideas, and a roadmap for change. 

Deborah will be speaking about lessons learned from these homes and their owners, for both the home and the community, and challenging professionals to raise the bar in creating a future where disabilities no longer present obstacles to fully participate.
