Prop 30       LCFF      Common Core       LCAP

What do these terms and acronyms mean for your child’s education?

Answers may be found at the 34th annual PTA Advocacy Day for Education. This year, we’re focusing on the major transitions in education in California. Presenters will cover:

  • Transitions in Standards (from CST to Common Core)
  • Transitions in Standardized Testing (from paper/fill-in the bubble STAR test to the online SBAC)
  • Transitions in Funding Method (from revenue limits to Local Control Funding Formula, LCFF)
  • Opportunities for Parent Engagement through the newly mandated Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP)

Held locally again this year, Advocacy Day will be an all-day event, including lunch.
