Art on Ice 2014 is a lively evening --for grown-ups!-- to raise funds in support of Shady Lane School’s scholarship fund. Art on Ice will feature live music, appetizers and drinks, a silent auction of donated fine artwork and children's work, and the Champions for Children Award, "honoring those who have made a significant contribution to improving the lives of children."
Pittsburgh jazz legend Kenny Blake will be performing with a special band, brought together specially for Art on Ice! Don't miss out on this special opportunity to see Kenny Blake live with friends.

Admission includes appetizers and desserts; wine, beer and soda; live music by Kenny Blake and friends; and the silent auction.

Advance online individual admission: $50
Individuals may also register as many as 3 guests in advance online for $25 each.

Day of event tickets will be available at the door for $65 per person.

Watch a painting being created live--and bid to win it!
Local artist Alison Zapata will create a unique work on site during Art on Ice...a rare chance to watch creation in action.

Alison Zapata has been working as a visual artist and art educator for over sixteen years, focusing on portraiture, murals, and multi-media collage. Alison has been honored with a grant from the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council and participation in the Fulbright Art and Culture Research Abroad Program and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts Artist in Education program. She most recently developed a workshop, “Arts Integration Strategies for Students with Autism”, funded by The Kennedy Center, VSA, and Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.


Other Auction Items include:

  • Original artwork from local talents including multimedia sculpture by Kim Fox; stained glass by Glenn Greene; sculpture by Thaddeus Mosley; paintings by William Pazman, Jr. and Kimberley Merrill; a stained glass pillar by Daviea Davis, honoring Shady Lane; and photographs by Rob Larson and James Anderson;
  • Year-long memberships to the Edgewood Club and Phipps Conservatory;
  • Event tickets from the Pittsburgh Public Theatre, City Theatre, Pittsburgh Symphony, Attack Theatre, Pittsburgh International Children's Festival and the Pirates;
  • Special events and workshops from the Pittsburgh Glass Center, Gymkhana, Wellness Pittsburgh and CYKL Studio; and
  • Collaborative artwork from the children at Shady Lane School!
