The Yellow Room Gang

plus  Straight Eight

In December of 2005, eight Michigan songwriters gathered in the brilliantly yellow living room of David Tamulevich’s Ann Arbor home for the first time. They've been meeting monthly ever since, to share dinner, conversation, and the newest song they have in  process for critique. Each an accomplished songwriter and performer in their own right, they create a unique atmosphere of respect and support, friendship and generosity, finding new and unexpected ways to explore beyond their previous personal boundaries.  What  began as that casual get-together with friends has evolved into one of the most exciting acoustic 'super groups' to ever join forces on one stage. Their group concerts are rare, so on those occasions when they do gather to perform, it's a don't-miss event.

We are thrilled to announce the third in our series of acoustic concerts at GPUC. The award-winning Yellow Room Gang, this collaboration of seven of Michigan's best songwriter/performers will gather in our circular chapel on Saturday, March 1 at 7:30 PM. Seven members of YRG will be performing: Mustard's Retreat (David Tamulevich and Michael Hough), Matt Watroba, Annie and Rod Capps, Kitty Donohoe, and Jim Bizer.

We have also lined up a terrific opening group, Straight Eight, a locally-based trio of former rockers who have mellowed over the years and gone all-acoustic. These guys are worth the price of admission on their own, so you won't want to be a late arrival. Be assured of a tremendously enjoyable evening from these ten top-drawer musicians, singers and performers. Our previous concerts have exceeding everyone's expectations, and we are expecting no less from The Yellow Room Gang and Straight Eight.
