Dick Wagner - To Think Like a CFP.....Circa 2014 (25 Years Later)
In 1989, Wagner wrote a seminal piece for the Journal of Financial Planning entitled “To Think…Like a CFP” that remains a leading aspirational expression of the financial planning profession and its importance to the modern world. With technological advancements and a truly different world from 25 years ago, come and hear the updated version from the man who wrote the original.
Richard Wobbekind - “Colorado Economic Update: Can the Good Times Keep Rolling?”
This presentation will begin with a discussion of the current U.S economic environment. The national economic update will focus on job growth, output growth and monetary policy. Using the backdrop of the national economic situation the current state of the Colorado economy and future prospects will be explored. This discussion will cover population, employment and income prospects as well as industry specific growth projections. Can Colorado sustain its current growth rate? What are some of the key issues that we face as a state?
Lunch will be served at this meeting. Registration and networking from 11:30 am - 12 noon.

DICK WAGNER
Dick Wagner is a Certified Financial Planner(TM) who has been writing and philosophizing about financial planning and our personal relationships with money for most of his thirty-two years as a financial planner. He is a past president of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners and the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the International Association For Financial Planning and has served on many national FPA committees as well as on the Board of Directors of the Colorado financial planning Association. He is a regular columnist for Financial Advisor magazine and is currently at work on a book addressing financial planning (hopefully nearly finished).
He lives in Denver Colorado with his architect wife, Gail.
RICHARD WOBBEKIND
Richard L. Wobbekind is Executive Director of the Business Research Division, Associate Professor of Business Economics and Finance, and Senior Associate Dean for Academic Programs at the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado-Boulder.
He participates annually in the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank Regional Economic Roundtable and is a contributor to the Western Blue Chip forecast newsletter and the National Association for Business Economics (NABE) economic outlook survey. He is a member of the Governor’s Revenue Estimating Advisory Committee and the Boulder Economic Council. Rich is past President of the NABE.
Dr. Wobbekind teaches MBA students in macroeconomics, public policy, and entrepreneurship. He has received four awards for teaching excellence from the students of the Leeds School of Business as well as a host of awards throughout his career including Key Contirbutor of the year by Boulder Chamber of Commerce.
Richard Wobbekind has lived in Colorado for over 38 years and has spent much of his time studying the development of the Colorado and regional economies. Dr. Wobbekind received a BA in Economics from Bucknell University and an MA and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Colorado-Boulder.
