Join us for our regular monthly chapter meeting. This month features Jim Barrineau and Courtney Pullen.

Jim Barrineau - Emerging Market Investing in a Declining Liquidity Environment
With the Federal Reserve Bank tapering of bond purchases and the Bank of China’s additional restrictions on lending, this is a challenging time to invest in fixed income.  Emerging market debt, in particular, has been affected by the declining global liquidity environment.  At the same time, it is clear that a large swath of emerging market economies are in better fiscal position than their developed counterparts, emerging market assets are much cheaper than many comparable developed market asset classes, and further that emerging market debt has historically been an important addition to any fixed income portfolio.

Schroders’ Co-head of Emerging Market Debt Relative, Jim Barrineau, will discuss recent trends in emerging markets and their implications on the emerging market debt class.

Courtney Pullen - Intentional Wealth:  How Families Build Legacies of Stewardship and Financial Health
Most advisors and affluent families are aware of the adage that wealth created in the first generation is lost by the end of the third generation, (shirtsleeves to shirtsleeves).  This troubling reality engages us with the question; how do families overcome these odds and go on to successfully transfer wealth and values from one generation to the next?  Taken from his extensive interviews of G-3 to G-7 families and his experience as a family wealth counselor, Courtney will discuss the findings of their hard-earned wisdom.  He will also discuss the application of the principles to upper middle-income families.

Lunch will be served at this meeting. Registration and networking from 11.30 am - 12 noon.

Member orientation will commence at 11:00 am. This is ideal for new members, guests, sponsors and returning members after a long absence.
