"Special Education Law: What You Need to Know to Navigate Public School Services for Your Special Needs Child" 

Register below to attend this vital workshop where you will learn information about laws, regulations and other important information to help you become an empowered advocate for your special needs child.

This seminar will be facilitated by Jane Wettach, Director of the Children's Law Clinic at Duke University Law School.  Professor Wettach is a Clinical Professor of Law at Duke Law School, where she has taught since 1994. In addition to directing the Children's Law Clinic, Professor Wettach teaches Education Law. Previously, she taught in the AIDS Legal Assistance Project and in the Legal Analysis, Research and Writing program. Prior to joining the faculty at Duke, Wettach was a Legal Aid lawyer in Raleigh and in Winston-Salem, specializing in the law of government benefits. Professor Wettach earned her undergraduate and law degrees at the University of North Carolina at Chapl Hill.

There will be a parent support group immediately following the seminar, facilitated by Sally Maslansky, MA, MFT, 12:30 to 2:00pm, in one of the private conference rooms at Freedom House. Please RSVP to attend on the workshop registration form.
