(Vedic Chanting w/Intro to Sanskrit & Living Ahimsa Meditation)
taught by: Padmasri-Jennifer Gillis
According to the Rishis, human voice and it's rhythmic speech was the first life-generating sadhana of sound to descend to the Earth. These sages advocated rhythmic speech and music as a means of transcending the physical and mental planes. Vedic chanting evokes your personal and spiritual sound, and are taught as sadhana practice to help you merge sound with breath, breath with movement and movement with sacred action. In essence, the primordial sounds of Samskrtam (Sanskrit), when chanted adhering to the rules and precision of pronunciation, carry potent effects for healing the heart in it's deepest space. These sounds evoke a sense of wonder and harmony with the spirit that dwells in all things. Rhythmic speech holds tremendous power, shakti, to evoke our inner song, the source of awareness and intelligence. Sadhana of Living Ahimsa Meditation cultivates awareness, strengthens inner harmony, and evokes the discovery that everything is God.
