Wise Earth Ayurveda Living Ahimsa Meditation Level I

taught by Padmasri Jennifer Gillis

As a weary bird flies hither and thither and comes to rest on its perch where it is tethered, so does the mind come to rest at last in its own self. Chandogya Upanisad

Living Ahimsa Meditation is a profound practice for witnessing consciousness. In this practice we cultivate awareness, strengthen inner harmony, and discover that everything is God. Based on the most ancient form of meditation called Japa (a Sanskrit word that infers putting an end to the cycles of birth), this potent practice helps us to attain a deep state of serenity and peacefulness, whilst reconciling our karmas and dissolving those we have outgrown. Living Ahimsa Meditation is an effective means of cultivating a state of absolute awareness.

In Living Ahimsa Meditation we recite mantras to evoke our sonic energies to awaken the buddhi, higher mind. This meditation brings the mind to a pivotal point within the buddhi where you can effortlessly take pause, and enter the silence. The Rishis recognized that the repetition (both audible and inaudible forms) of Sanskrit mantras is a proficient way to promote unobstructed awareness. Stillness of being comes from the development of our awareness; the more aware we become of each and every moment, the more inner harmony we are likely to harvest. Our stillness heals the mind by eliminating fear, grief, anger, depression, and other negative emotions, which are based in false beliefs and habituations. Living Ahimsa Meditation clarifies our perception and validates reality and a shared sense of harmony.

This course covers the fundamentals of Living Ahimsa teachings of the Mind - mental, emotional and spiritual understanding that attune you to your true nature of ahimsa-inner harmony and the spirit of non-hurtfulness.

   Study includes:
  • traditional study of japa meditation as a profound form of Inner Medicine Healing
