Dr. Tex Sample has been a cab driver, a laborer, a roust-about in the oil fields, a community organizer, a social justice advocate, a local church pastor, an ecumenical staffer, a professor and a seminary academic dean. He works and teaches in the areas of U.S. culture, social theory, social change, power, class, and theological ethics. He's a specialist in issues for blue-collar workers and the poor. He has published 12 books, including  Blue Collar Ministry.  His  US Lifestyles and Mainline Churches  was the bestseller for Westminster/John Knox for 2 years in a row.
