Safe-T-Works is certified to train Designated Employer Representatives (DER) responsible for the drug free workplace programs for your business. We have added this service to benefit not only our clients but representatives from other businesses throughout North Carolina and the Mid-Atlantic region to establish and promote the highest level of industry standards for drug and alcohol testing.
Who should take this training program: Employees responsible for a company's drug & alcohol testing program, representatives responsible for DOT compliance, transportation directors, human resources officers, finance officers, company CEOs and presidents, safety directors, shipping supervisors, fleet managers, and anyone else interested in workplace drug and alcohol testing or compliance procedures.
Course Objective as stated by DATIA: The objective of the DER Certification Training course is to provide instruction and resource material that enables the DER to: fully understand the role of the DER in the drug testing process; define issues which arise in the drug testing process and what action is required of DERs; learn more about the DER's relationship with other players in the drug testing process, C/TPAs, collectors, MROs, EAPs, laboratory personnel, and SAPs; insure complete compliance with federal rules and regulations; and better serve the employees they work with by being knowledgeable about the entire mandated drug and alcohol testing process; learn the differences in procedures for each transportation mode; better define his/her role in assuring DOT and company policy compliance; provide services meeting standards of professionalism, accountability, and ethical behavior; and implement practical application of industry standards and procedures.
This course includes: DER Responsibilities, Industry Definitions and Roles, Federal Rules and Regulations, Modal Regulations, Company Policies, Problem Tests and What to Do, Industry Standards for the DER
Fee includes: DATIA Training and Reference Manual, additional training materials, certificate of completion, and refreshments.
Optional Fee: DATIA's DER Certification Exam (scheduled at your convenienve within 45 days after the training) The exam may be taken a second time if necessary at no additional cost.
