The swallowing disorder, Dysphagia, affects many people with Developmental Disabilities.  If ignored it can lead to dehydration and even death. This is a trainer workshop for trainers, and will provide a review of  the guidelines for training direct  support staff who support individuals with a known swallowing disorder,  individuals with altered texture diets, individuals with a behavior plan which addresses eating behaviors, food  stealing and pica, and  individuals who may be at risk for choking.

Registration is by clicking on the green button below.  If you have any questions, or would like to request special accommodations, please call (410) 234-8262 or email Donna.Will@maryland.gov.  Fruit smoothies with black currant strawberry kiwi orange and banana isolated on white background
