Sponsored by Medfield Employers & Merchants Organization, Inc. (MEMO)
For Matt Savage, at age 3, autism caused an aversion to music. By 8, he had an award-winning jazz career that took him all over the world, put him on major talk shows, and created relationships with jazz greats. Learn his story, hear him perform.
You'll also hear from The Boston Conservatory's Rhoda Bernard, Ed.D., who directs the Program for Students on the Autism Spectrum -- the only program of its kind in the U.S. offering comprehensive private music lessons for children and adults. She will relate her knowledge of autism to a variety of special needs.
The evening will also feature:
* Matt Savage accompanied by combo members of MHS Jazz Band
* Performers from The Boston Conservatory's autism program
* A Medfield Marimba performance
* And more!
Seats must be reserved in advance, but are free. A suggested $5 donation is requested at the door to help fund a special music scholarship for Medfield children with special needs.
Special thanks to the Medfield Music Association's event partners:
