Presented by Corey Accardo (CCS Right Whale Population program)
Corey will describe the natural history of the bowhead whale and explore the ancient and complex relationship between the whales and the Native Alaskans who are allowed to hunt a limited number of them. She will also discuss the evolving Arctic and how the changing environment affects the animals, land and people.
This presentation is part of the Center for Coastal Studies’ Winter Lecture Series, which is supported in part by Napi’s Restaurant. Participants are encouraged to arrive at 5 pm and enjoy Napi’s special early bird dinner!
