Introduction to Coaching Workshop: Supporting Nurse Leaders in Long Term Care 2014

When is the workshop being held?

The workshop will be held May 20 & 21, 2014, at the Lowry Conference Center at 1061 Akron Way, Denver, CO 80230.  It will be held from 7:30 am – 4:30 pm each dayParticipants are expected to attend both days of the workshop.  There is a $40 administrative fee for workshop materials. Breakfast, lunch and snack will be provided each day.

What will I learn in this course?

You will learn about coaching as a leadership skill in this 2-day Introduction to Coaching Workshop for executives supporting Nurse Leaders in Long Term Care. Nurses will attend a 5-day Leadership workshop where they will develop greater skills and expertise in change management, diversity and culture, effective communication, conflict resolution and creating excellence in the workplace. Each participant will also design and implement a capstone project in the 12 months following the workshop. The aim of the coaching relationship is to ensure and support each leader's development of new leadership skills.

While the purpose of this course is to support nurse leaders in long term care, past participants have found this coaching experience to be an invaluable addition to their own leadership skill set.

What will be expected of me following this workshop?

Coaches will meet weekly for 30 minutes in person or by phone with their leader for approximately 12 months. Ongoing support for coaches will also be provided by the Center’s coaching staff through hour-long, monthly Coffee Conversations via teleconference. Coaching support is available individually as needed.

What will I need to do to prepare for this workshop?

Upon registration, a short book and homework assignment will be mailed to you.  We ask that you read the book and complete the homework prior to starting the workshop.
