The Noel Academy was created by a gift from Lee Noel who along with Don Clifton of the Gallup Poll and Professor Chip Anderson was credited with launching the Strengths-Based movement.

Dr. Benner specializes in preventive approaches for meeting the academic and social/emotional needs of students, particularly those with emotional and behvioral disorders (EBD). Dr. Benner has helped to build the capacity of educators nationwide to implement and sustain response to intervention (RtI) systems. Dr. Benner has a knack for supporting professionals to understand and meet the needs of youth who are least understood and struggling most.

- Honoring Dr. Ron Richards, Superintendent, Pendergast Elementary School District, on the eve of his retirement after serving his district for 37 years - the past 16 as its superintendent. Dr. Richard's leadership was also instrumental in the national and international growth of Kids at Hope.
