DBS University 101 and 201

A Patient Educational Seminar 

Deep Brain Stimulation University 101 and 201 are in-depth educational programs for patients and families. DBS 101 is for anyone interested in learning about DBS. DBS 201 is for patients and families already living with DBS. Textbook and meal included. Meet the faculty on the break. Hear special guest Gayle Schendzielos describe her experience before, during and after DBS surgery between 12:20 p.m. and 12:45 p.m.

DBS University offers participants extensive information to increase your knowledge and awareness about DBS. Learn about the the evaluation, risks, benefits, surgical techniques, hardware, battery options, medications after DBS, stimulation adjustments and long term care. Take home the book "DBS A Patient Guide to Deep Brain Stimulation" by Colorado DBS experts Dr. Monique Giroux and Sierra Farris, PA-C.
