2014 Oregon PKU Family Camp

A SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY!

Join us for the 11th annual Oregon PKU Family Camp, August 22nd to 25th. Each year more than 150 campers from 7 states attend our 3 day camp. Many of our PKU campers have never encountered a neighbor, classmate or peer who also has PKU, but this camp changes that. The weekend offers a place to connect with others who understand what it is like to endure routine blood draws, to consume a ‘special’ (medical formula) drink three times a day and to always be prepared to tow their ‘low pro’ food with them to school, work and all events involving food. By the last day the participants will have experienced the rare opportunity to connect and foster relationships within the small, but equally inspirational, PKU community.

READY TO HAVE A MEANINGFUL WEEKEND?

Washington Family Ranch features:

• A water park! Slide down a tube, challenge your friends on the four-­ slide racer or experience the exhilaration of the Thrill Drop Slide.  Creekside’s water park also features a zero entry swimming pool and a dive pool.
• An activity center that has an adventure course, a 9-­hole miniature golf course, bouldering, dunk hoops, and a gym with ball courts.
• The camp also includes a sand volleyball court and plenty of lush grassy fields for a variety of activities. A snack bar, the gift shop and Central Oregon sunshine guarantee this to be a weekend your family will never forget.

Engaging Activities at PKU Camp include:

• Cooking workshops
• Seminars
• Enjoyable group activities for all ages

Cost:  $150 per person (includes meals, lodging and all activities)  ***Early bird special register and pay in full by June 1st and save $10 per person***

Lodging: Camp rooms house 6, 8, 14 or 16 people and have bunk beds.

Food: All meals (including low protein) will be prepared, allowing you plenty of time to enjoy your family and visit with other PKU Families.

What to Bring:  Linens are provided (pillow, sheets, blanket and bath towel).  Pack any personal items, toiletries, and medical formulas.  We also suggest bringing sunscreen, a water bottle, beach towel and swimsuit.
