Cancellation Policy:

 Changes, substitutions, or cancellations MUST be written and emailed to LeadingAge Texas no later than 7 days prior to this seminar. No refunds, credits, or transfers will be issued after this time. Substitutions may be made at any time for persons unable to attend. No refunds will be given to individuals who fail to show up for the seminar. A cancellation fee of $75 will be charged for cancellations. A fee of $25 will be charged for all returned checks or incorrect credit card information.

About the Course

About the Instructor

Ron Orth, RN, NHA, CPC, RAC-CT, is a registered nurse with over 25 years experience in the healthcare field with 12 of those years in the long term care industry. Ron is on the Advisory Board of PPS Alert, MDS Alert, the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators as well as CLTC and ECPN magazines. Ron contributes frequently to long term care publications such as PPS Alert, MDS Alert and most recently ECPN Magazine. Ron's presentations on Medicare regulations, PPS, MDS and other topics of interest to the long term care industry have been featured throughout the United States and in Canada. Ron earned his nursing degree in 1985 and a Baccalaureate Degree in Health Care Administration in 1996 from Concordia University of Wisconsin. In addition to his nursing licensure, he is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in the State of Arizona. Ron is also credentialed as an accredited Certified Professional Coder through the American Academy of Professional Coders (The Academy).

Continuing Education

This course provides a total of 22.5 CNE contact hours. LeadingAge Texas is a training partner of the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordination (AANAC), an approved provider of continuing nursing education through ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Center). 

Upon successful completion of the course and passage of the exam, certification is valid for 2 years.

If you have previously been RAC-CT certified and need to recertify, this course is not for you. More about recertification options is available on the AANAC website: www.aanac.org

CEs for a live workshop are based upon actual classroom attendance for the duration of the scheduled educational activity and are veried through sign-in sheets. If a student must leave before the activity is scheduled to end or is late arriving, he/she will not receive full CE credit. Partial credit may be awarded. Each attendee, based on sign-in sheets/attendance, will receive the CE certicate upon the completion of the education activity. Final exams are not a requirement for claiming a CE certi cate for a live workshop.
