Technical Employment in Santa Barbara, 2014

Our annual technical employment panel is always popular and informative. Find out how the continued, but slow, economic recovery is affecting the Santa Barbara technical job market. Will job opportunities return? Will new job descriptions emerge? What skill sets are likely to be in demand, and what jobs are now hard to find or hard to fill? What are the predictions for future technical employment?
The Science and Engineering Council’s own Gary Kravetz will moderate a panel of technical recruiters and human resources managers from local technical companies. The panelists will discuss their views on the Santa Barbara technical job marketplace. Confirmed panelists include:

                Todd Mitchell, Network Hardware Resale
                Janet Wallace, Pacific Design Technology
                Dawn Coles, FLIR Systems
                Trish Miller, Spherion Staffing

Q & A will follow the presentations.

Moderator: Gary Kravetz

Our moderator Gary Kravetz is the former CEO of NCC Executive Search and Santa Barbara Staffing. He currently is an active member of SCORE, Tech Coast Angels & several technical company boards of directors. Prior to his last 15 years as a recruiter, Gary was an Engineering manager at Hughes Aircraft  and at his own engineering design company. Gary is  Co-President of the Science and Engineering Council.

This meeting is sponsored in part by Reicker, Pfau, Pyle and McRoy, Attorneys

From our Co-Presidents:     Thanks again for your membership renewals and scholarship donations. We look forward to seeing you at this February meeting and again on March 12th for a timely talk on Commercially Hosted Remote Sensing.
