 OPTIONAL LUNCH / LAB TOUR

In partnership with CalAPA member RMA Group, Inc., an optional free lunch and materials lab tour is scheduled to take place after the conclusion of the conference, April 10 from noon until 3 p.m. Demonstration of the Hamburg Wheel Track and Gyratory Compactor testing equipment will be featured. RSVP for this event is required, and must be done on-line at the time of registration for the conference. Attendees are responsible for their own transportation to the lab, which is located at 12130 Santa Margarita Court in Rancho Cucamonga, about 6 miles from the Doubletree Hotel, or a 10-minute drive. What's new? By popular demand this event will feature booths by various companies that offer products and services to the industry. New this year will be a gala reception and equipment expo!  There's also an optional off-site testing lab and equipment demo. This will give attendees the opportunity to get an up-close look at the latest equipment and network in a relaxed atmosphere.
 
Steve TakigawaWho's on the agenda? Our keynote speaker is Caltrans Deputy Director Steve Takigawa (pictured at left), who will discuss various topics of interest to the asphalt pavement community and local agencies, including new initiatives, funding and policy matters. Also on the agenda is Heather Dylla with the National Asphalt Pavement Association, who will discuss various sustainable initiatives undertaken by the asphalt pavement industry on a national level. Other agenda items will cover topics such as asphalt mixes, pavement interlayers, long-life (perpetual) asphalt and more.

How much does it cost? CalAPA conferences remain one of the great bargains in the industry. CalAPA members and public agency representatives who register by April 1  pay just $119, and non-members are just $139. There's ample free parking for attendees, and a complementary airport shuttle for hotel guests. What about lodging? There are a limited number of rooms reserved at the Doubletree Hotel at a special discounted rate of $114.
