Coalition of Communities of Color Legislative Action Day

For the past several years , the Urban League of Portland has organized an event at the State Capitol in Salem during the Legislative Session to engage the community in actively advocating on issues that concern our community.

This year, we are supporting the Coalition of Communities of Color Legislative Advocacy Day on Monday, February 24th and partnering with the Portland African American Leadership Forum (PAALF) to engage African American Community Members.

During the day we will be advocating on issues of health, education, employment, police accountability and support for older adults. There will be an opportunity for participants to meet with Legislators, tour the Capitol and hear from decision makers.

There will also be a special student roundtable for high school students. The roundtable will be an opportunity for high school students to discuss issues specific to them and help inform the future work of the Urban League of Portland.

The event is free. Transportation is available and light breakfast and lunch are included.
