OSHA 10 Hour Construction Outreach Program
The 10-hour Construction Industry Outreach Training Program is intended to provide entry level construction workers general awareness on recognizing and preventing hazards on a construction site.
THE OSHA 10 HOUR CLASS COVERS THE FOLLOWING TOPICS:
- Introduction to OSHA
- Focus Four Hazards:
- Fall Protection, Subpart M
- Struck by (e.g., falling objects, trucks, cranes)
- Caught in/between (e.g., trench hazards, equipment)
- Electrical, Subpart K
- Personal Protective and Lifesaving Equipment, Subpart E
- Health Hazards in Construction (e.g., noise, hazards communication and crystalline silica)
10-HOUR ELECTIVE COURSE TOPICS MAY INCLUDE:
- Materials Handling, Storage, Use and Disposal, Subpart H
- Tools - Hand and Power, Subpart I
- Scaffolds, Subpart L
- Excavations, Subpart P
- Stairways and Ladders, Subpart X
- The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS)
Upon successful completion, participants will receive an OSHA construction safety and health 10-hour course completion card from the Department of Labor.
