Make Tobacco History: Mobilizing Youth to End the Tobacco Epidemic

Program Description:

Coordinator Camp 2014 will include a mix of inspiring keynote presentations, breakout sessions/workshops and panel discussions for adult coordinators of youth tobacco prevention programs. In addition to dynamic content, Coordinator Camp will integrate components that facilitate active participation by all attendees, coordinator-to-coordinator exchange of ideas and relationship building to facilitate further regional collaboration and knowledge exchange.  

Topic Areas

• Where are we now? -  Learn how to harness resources and momentum beyond your community to reinvigorate youth advocates, build future leaders and end tobacco deaths.
  

• Where are we going? - Learn about emerging tobacco control issues and engage in discussions about innovative strategies that will effectively address them.  

• How do we get there? - Learn how to manage an effective youth campaign when common challenges arise.

Conference Details & Registration

The meeting will begin Wednesday, August 13 at 3:00 PM and continue on Thursday, August 14, concluding on Friday, August 15 at 12:30 PM.

Cost of registration is $100, which includes:

• Admission to all plenaries and sessions
• An evening reception on Wednesday 8/14/14
• All meals beginning with dinner on Wednesday 8/13 through lunch on Friday 8/15/14.

Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is the closest airport to downtown New Orleans. Cab fare from Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport to Holiday Inn-Downtown Superdome is approximately $33 for two (2) people and $14 for each additional person. • Rooms rates are $89 per night
• Reservations must be guaranteed by a credit card
• All reservations must be made by July 11, 2014
• Registration will automatically be billed for one night, room and tax unless cancelled 3 days prior to arrival

Covered, indoor garage parking is attached to the hotel. Cost will be complimentary to Coordinator Camp 2014 attendees. The garage is self -park.
