                    Living with Herbs Weekend 1

Throughout this 8 month hands-on program, discover the magic of medicinal herbs. Learn how to use herbs to treat yourself and your family. Each month we will gather for one weekend together and explore how to identify, plant, grow and harvest medicinal herbs, as well as learn about wild plant stewardship. Each weekend will also include medicine making and cover specific topics such as using herbs for immune support, detoxification and digestion, remedies for colds and headaches, herbal diets and much more!

PRICING

  • Attend the entire program (all 8 weekends) and receive the discounted price of $1,200.00 when you pay in full.
  • You may attend the entire program and use a payment plan of $175 a month, to be paid prior to each workshop weekend.
  • Drop ins to the program are also welcome, the price of one weekend workshop is $200.

Althea Northage-Orr, MA, AHG, L.Ac, CST

Althea is a professional herbalist and a licensed practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture and Structural Therapy. She has over 25 years of clinical practice and 15 years of teaching experience. She is the author of "Living with Herbs: A Materia Medica" and the "Kiva Handbook for Alternative Medicine". Althea holds a BA in English, an MA in Literature, and a degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Midwest College for the Study of Oriental Medicine and numerous certifications in the field of Healing Arts. Her professional affiliations include the American Herbalist Guild, Illinois Acupuncture Association, National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and the American Botanical Council. In addition to the Chicago Center for Psychophysical Healing, Althea owns and maintains an 80-acre herb farm that is a teaching forum, a product source for her herbal pharmacy and an experimental site for the cultivation of rare and endangered botanicals.
