Instructions for downloading the WebEx manager are below.

  • You will be allowed to enter the conference no more than 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
  • Open the above webinar link and enter your first and last name and email address when prompted. Then click "Join Now."
  • Once you have joined the webinar, you will see an audio broadcast window where you can adjust volume. Since the audio will be transmitted through your computer speakers, please make sure your speakers are turned on and not muted.

Webinar to Explore Best Practices from Successful Community-Based Childhood Asthma Management Program

Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) are the ideal setting for treating high-risk children with asthma. In fact, 20 percent of low-income children with asthma receive care in these centers. And FQHCs will play a more important role than ever as millions more children are being covered under new health insurance provisions.


Join the Merck Childhood Asthma Network (MCAN) on Thursday, February 20 at 12 p.m. ET for “Insights and Building Blocks from a Successful Federally Qualified Health Center-Based Asthma Management Program.” This educational webinar will explore challenges and opportunities from the Community Healthcare for Asthma Management and Prevention of Symptoms (CHAMPS) project.

WHAT:

This interactive webinar will:

  • Discuss successful strategies for patient/family recruitment engagement
  • Address various challenges to asthma management including site demographics, organizational barriers, reimbursement, care coordination and information transfer across multiple organizations.
  • Highlight positive provider-level practice changes that resulted from participation in the CHAMPS program and provide advice on making similar programs sustainable.
