True Happiness

The desire to experience more happiness may be one thing which motivates many of us to develop our mindfulness meditation practices. We may come to our practice with the belief that happiness is based on external experiences, where happiness does, of course, arise but also soon enough fades.

In this daylong session, we will look deeply at true and enduring happiness to examine its root causes which are not dependent on temporary experiences and conditions. Extending this inquiry, we will explore cultivation of these root causes leading to a happiness founded on equanimity and compassion, not subject to impermanence, and available to all of us.

Please bring a packed lunch and beverage. The day will include sitting and walking practice (accommodation will be made for those for whom walking or movement is difficult) with talks on the nature and cultivation of True Happiness.

Cost:  All ICD events are offered on a donation basis, with no one turned away for lack of funds.
