Tree Planting & Habitat Restoration

at Billy's Pond

Join the Yakima Area Arboretum, Yakima Greenway, and the Wastewater Treat Plant in helping to restore the Yakima River flood plain and salmon habitat by planting trees around Billy’s Pond south of the Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Learn about native trees and shrubs!  Plan on getting dirty, seeing wild birds and fish up close, and take part in important work that benefits the whole Valley.  Kiddin' Around Logo

This event is also an official Yakima Greenway Kiddin' Around activity.

Please bring bottled water, durable gloves and shoes.  Children 12 & under must be accompanied by adult.

Hosted by Yakima Area Arboretum, Yakima Greenway, & City of Yakima Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Directions to planting area:  The Wastewater Treatment Plant is located behind or south of K-Mart off of HWY 24, near the Arboretum.  Follow the road around behind K-Mart and pass through the gates into the Treatment Plant.  Look for signage.  Stay to the right, following the fence line south into the facility.  Continue until you get to a gravel road.  Follow the gravel road, along the fence line (I-82 will be on your right), until you see the work crew and new Greenway trail.  Park along the pathway.
