Barnegat Bay Ecology
July 30- August 1, 2014

In partnership with the Pinelands Preservation Alliance, join us this summer for an exciting 3-day workshop focused on Barnegat Bay using a newly developed high school curriculum focused on Barnegat Bay.
You’ll increase your knowledge of Barnegat Bay and the ecological issues facing our estuaries through field studies, classroom activities and science presentations.
Participants will:
- explore lessons that cover topics such as watersheds, biodiversity, population studies, water quality, and biology and ecology of local bay species
- enjoy plenty of field studies and hands-on activities
- increase their knowledge of the ecological issues facing bays in New Jersey with special emphasis on Barnegat Bay
- increase their confidence in teaching about estuaries using local real world science
- discover a variety of resources for use in their classrooms
- receive continuing education credits, high quality materials, snacks
In order to keep this workshop free, we are asking participants to bring their own lunch (a refrigerator is available for use). Space is limited so register today!
