Applying Advances from Abroad to Care at Home 

The Delaware Academy of Medicine and American College of Surgeons, Delaware Chapter is pleased to announce that on Saturday, April 26, 2014 we will present the inaugural 
Delaware Military Medicine Symposium.
We will honor our colleagues who have served in the military and learn of the advances that have come to civilian life from the tragedy of war.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Physicians, Nurses, Physician Assistants, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Anesthesiologists, Neurologists, Orthopaedic Specialists, and Other Subspecialists.

GLOBAL OBJECTIVES

1) Describe historic military medical practices to present day scenarios.
2) Recognize techniques developed in the battlefield to routine civilian care.
3) Recognize what is involved in preparation for mass casualty and wartime events.
4) Describe Polytrauma and Traumatic Brain Injury, and  recognize how to development a system of treatment to address its physical, cognitive and/or psychological presentations.
5) Recognize Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome and a treatment and care program.
