Recent water conditions remind us that water conservation is always a smart idea. The City of Palo Alto Utilities is teaming up with the Tuolumne River Trust, Palo Alto Weekly, KEEN, and Zombie Runner for this second annual fun run and walk in celebration of Earth Day and Water Awareness Month.

This family-friendly 5K race is a fun, healthy way to raise awareness about water resources and conservation. Join fellow community members at the scenic Baylands for prizes, goodies, free compost bin giveaway and a chance to catch the “running toilet!” Win a canoe trip with the Tuolumne River Trust, KEEN footwear, and more! The first 100 registrants get a free stainless-steel water bottle, and all fees go to help support our community’s efforts to manage and conserve our water supply.

Don't want to run?  You can walk, stroll, hop or jump...and even those who prefer not to race at all can still enjoy all the fab food, live music (Pig's Foot String Band), arts and crafts, raffle prizes, and other fun goodies from water agencies, local non-profits, businesses and environmental organizations. Plan to arrive early and/or stay late at the Baylands Athletic Center to have time for all the fun Earth Day festivities! (Scroll down for list of all the amazing folks involved with this event.)
