Soil is the foundation of your garden and healthy soils produce healthy plants. This class will teach you how to build and maintain healthy soils to create beautiful landscapes and bountiful gardens from the ground up.
Topics will include how to take soil samples, test for pH, how to interpret test results, and amend your soil as needed. Your instructor will also discuss the benefits of cover crops, crop rotation, composting, and proper fertilization.
All together you will learn the steps needed to increase the nutritional content of your fruits and vegetables, reduce your garden's dependency on pesticides and herbicides, and create a more balanced and natural garden.
