A little about Paul...
Paul Terranova is one of the most accomplished folks out there. He is an inspiration across the board- from his record-setting Ultra-running to his involvement in the causes that he believes in, to the dedication and support he has for his family and friends. Despite the medals, the records, and the generosity, Paul Terranova stays humble, cracking jokes on long runs and being an incredibly positive influence during tough workouts. Paul's got stories for days, but we'll save that for another time.
By the numbers, Paul's history is impressive. Last year, Paul finished 8th in the Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run in 17:56, earning him an automatic entry for the 2014 race. He was the first “Top Ten Texan” since Mary Hammes of Ft. Worth won the women’s race in 1987. Paul also came in 2nd place at the 2013 USATF 50m Trail Championships with a time of 6:32, and 3rd place at the 2013 USATF 100k Trail Championships with a time of 8:55. That's a lot to do in one year. Paul has also set course records at Hells Hills 50m and Squak Mountain 50k, with respective times of 6:54 and 4:41.
Born in Tennessee, Paul grew up in New Jersey, and graduated from Cornell with a Civil Engineering degree. He went on to get his Masters in Engineering Managament from the University of Missouri-Rolla while serving as an active-duty Army officer, and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. Austin is home for Paul now, where he lives and runs with his wife Meredith and dogs Flyer and Shiloh.
