Race the stairs to save a rescue animal!

On August 3rd runners and walkers will race the stairs of the iconic Stadium Bowl to benefit the rescue animals of Kindred Souls Foundation.

Participants have the choice of running in a pack (3 person teams) or as a lone wolf (individually) in competitive timed events or walking the stairs (untimed). When you participate in a pack, you still compete as an individual--the pack times are an aggregate of each individual's time.

The race will cover the entire Stadium Bowl, ‘weaving the stairs’ by running up one staircase, and down the other. Total steps climbed 814 + total descended 814 for a grand total of 1,628 steps. Soldiers racing Fire Fighters, racing Police Officers, racing Crossfit Gyms, racing High School and College athletes…sounds like fun! Year-Round Barking Rights for the winners!

Registration opens March 1, 2014 and will close at midnight on July 31, 2014. Groupon holders must register online by July 5, and Living Social deal holders must register online by July 17, or be subject to additional fees (please review your Groupon and Living Social terms for more info). Registration entry fee is $35, $25 for those with a military ID (including spouses), and $15 for anyone 8-17 years old. You can also register as an individual on race day (8/3/14), but the entry fee will increase to $50 for all and T-shirts will not be guaranteed.

There is no online registration fee. Entry fees are non-refundable.

Pack Teams consist of three individuals and the team must be identified by July 31, 2014 in order to be considered for medals. Even if you are running as a Pack, all members need to register online as individuals. Once you have registered as an individual online for the race, you will receive a registration confirmation email with instructions for registering your pack members names and team name. You can register your pack at anytime after you register as an individual, but no later than midnight July 31, 2014.

Race day registration will be from 0800-0830 and will be $50/person. Onsite registration entry fees apply to all registering on the day of the race (i.e. no reduced fees for military or youth and Groupon and Living Social deal holders will incur additional fees). T-shirts are not guaranteed for those who register onsite. Pack registration will not be taken on race day.


Medals will be awarded to overall female pack, overall male pack, overall mixed pack, and overall High School pack as well as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place medals for male and female individual racers from the following age groups: 8-12; 13-17; 18-30; 31-50, 51-60; 60+. There will also be an engraved perpetual trophy for the overall top pack team.
