Mitch Weiss, Deputy Director at the California Transportation Commission

We are pleased to welcome Mitch Weiss, Deputy Director at the California Transportation Commission, as our program speaker on Tuesday, March 25, 2014!

Mr. Weis is leading development of the new Active Transportation Program which was created in 2013 by Senate Bill 99 and Assembly Bill 101. The program combines several funding sources and was established to encourage active modes of transportation, such as biking and walking. For the past 6 months, Mr. Weiss has led an extensive stakeholder engagement process to develop program guidelines. The Commission is slated to adopt the program guidelines on March 20th with Caltrans releasing a call for projects shortly thereafter.  The upcoming call for projects will provide $360 million for active transportation projects across the state. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about the program and how eligible applicants may access this newly created source of funding!
