ELTA Wolf Trap Early Learning Through the Arts

In this Level 2 workshop, teachers will review the interactive techniques and storytelling skillls and explore how they can be integrated into daily practice to engage students in the Common Core English Language Arts Standards.

Particular attention will be paid to strengthening each teacher’s practice as outlined in Charlotte Danielson's "Framework for Teaching," including Management of Transitions, Teacher Interactions with Students, Learning Activities and Quality of Questions and Prompts.

Thoughout the process, teachers will be asked to reflect on what they have led, give and receive constructive criticism, and discuss future applications. The overarching goals throughout are to help the teachers work in a student-centered manner, use effective questioning as outlined in the NYC DOE Danielson Competencies, explore how to encourage and incorporate student’s responses, and tap into their own creativity.
