Indiana Medical Device Manufacturers Council Event 

In addition to our own industry experts from companies such as Hill-Rom, Roche, and two software firms, we will have expert speakers from Underwriters Laboratory (UL).  We are excited to welcome UL’s global experts Mr. Anura Fernando and Mr. Michael Wiklund.  Mr. Fernando will be speaking on “Interoperability and  Addressing Safety in the Growing Healthcare Ecosystem.”  He will provide an overview of safety-critical systems considerations, safety standards, and approaches to risk management as mobile communications technologies and IT systems converge with traditional medical devices to create the mHealth and eHealth ecosystem.  Mr. Wiklund will present on “Human Factors Engineering (HFE)” based on his over twenty years of experience with consumer products, personal and business software products, websites, and medical and scientific instrumentation. HFE topics will include user research, user interface design, prototyping, usability testing, risk analysis, and design process engineering.

The conference will include a panel discussion with opportunities to ask questions regarding issues specific to your products and processes.
