It is well known that most nonprofits are exempt from federal and state income tax. They are also frequently exempt from real property tax, but one exemption that even nonprofits sometimes find elusive is sales tax. Join us for our next roundtable where we will discuss sales tax rules for nonprofit organizations and steps your organization can take to ensure compliance with the rules and take advantage of potential sales tax exemption. We will also discuss the State of Wisconsin’s rules on conducting raffles, and the rules associated with raffles.
Our discussion leader will be Glenn Miller, CPA, Managing Partner at Wegner CPAs. Glenn has more than twenty years experience performing financial statement audits and tax consultation for non-profit organizations. In addition to performing audits, Glenn regularly provides management consulting to organizations on topics such as executive compensation, budgeting, investment policies, and internal control systems. Glenn’s diverse non-profit client base allows him to not only communicate ideas to clients in a particular industry, but to share systems, operations and successes of his clients from a variety of business settings and industries.
The NPO Connection group meets bi-monthly from 11:15 am to 1:00 pm.
