AV media streaming via IP represents a powerful extension to traditional AV system integration. We are witnessing significant growth in end-user requirements for remote media access in education, training, meeting support, tech support, and houses of worship. This growth is attributed to the power of networks and the internet, providing media access via personal computers, netbooks, iPads, tablets, smartphones, and many other platforms. In this seminar, we’ll discuss the fundamentals of media streaming and basic network requirements for successful streaming implementation. System application examples — such as Internet streaming, overflow room streaming, content delivery networks and IPTV — will be discussed.
Understanding the “Why” Behind Great Audio for Audio/Video Conferencing
(9:30-10:30 am)
“Soft” video codecs are today’s and tomorrow’s method for video conferencing. Because of the trend to move away from hardware codecs to software codecs, it is becoming MORE important to address proper employment of audio conferencing techniques. This presentation will explore the importance of addressing room acoustics and structural/design treatments, environmental disruption, HVAC issues, and microphone advantages and disadvantages based on types. Additionally, state-of-the-art audio integration has gone digital and AVB (Audio Video Bridging, an IEEE set of standards) eliminates the headaches and expense of proprietary networks, incompatible products, buffering delays, VLANs, and synchronization issues. During this seminar, you will also learn about the arrival and departure of proprietary audio and video transports, why AVB matters, how it works, and who benefits.
What to Consider When Building a Video Archive System
