Health Care Cost Containment and the

Health Policy Commission

David Seltz was appointed the first Executive Director of the Health Policy Commission (HPC) in 2013.  The HPC was created by Chapter 224 of the Acts of 2012 to drive efforts to control the growth of health care spending in Massachusetts.  In his role as Executive Director, David is responsible for guiding the work of the HPC. David served as Health Policy Adviser to Governor Deval Patrick and Senate President Therese Murray prior to assuming his current position.  David's presentation will focus on the work of the Health Policy Commission to control health care spending while promoting integration of primary and behavioral health care and the implementation of alternative payment methodologies.
