Tech Foundations: AC and Heat Pumps

Are you looking to improve your AC/HP program design and delivery?

Tech Foundations: AC and Heat Pumps is a hands-on, three-day training with optional fourth and fifth day trainings for your EPA 608 card and PTCS™ heat pump certification. These training sessions cover industry essentials and equip attendees with the knowledge and terminology necessary to confidently engage with utilities, contractors and customers at every level. More importantly, our instructors and training materials will provide the information you need to improve your program design and communications.

It’s easy to talk heat pumps. This informal and informative class will show you how.  

Training highlights:

  • Taught by industry experts Bruce Manclark and Mark Jerome
  • Focused  on residential refrigeration-based AC/HP systems
  • Course is eligible for 9.5 BPI CEUs
  • Eight hours of hands-on lab exercises focusing on HVAC engineering principles in action
  • Refrigerant charging, AC/HP recognition, capacity testing, equipment troubleshooting and much more
  • Includes printed training materials and lunch
  • Optional fourth day of training to prepare you for the EPA 608 card exam (no additional charge)
  • Optional fifth day of training to receive your PTCS heat pump Certification (no additional charge)

Bruce Manclark is a nationally recognized leader in residential energy efficiency technical training, implementation of conservation programs, quality control testing and consulting on energy efficiency.  Bruce has provided more than 300 energy efficiency-related classroom trainings.

Mark Jerome offers more than 25 years of technical experience in the HVAC industry as the head service technician and owner/operator of a small HVAC contracting company.  He is extensively involved in all aspects of the diagnosis and repair of residential and commercial heating and cooling systems.  Mark has provided well over 100 energy efficiency-related classroom trainings.
