The class / workshop covers the basics of commercializing a new product - from initial idea to market research to initial product definition to determining the profit potential to final product design and getting the product made and sold. The class touches on Intellectual Property protection, licensing vs. subcontracting manufacture vs. direct manufacture, funding approaches, competitive analysis, manufacturing technologies, and the added challenges of a one product company. The class information applies to any type of product from software to packaged food to toys and simple gadgets or even large machines.
