Encore Entrepreneur Panel

Contrary to popular perception, entrepreneurship is not exclusive to the young and hip. Please join us for a panel discussion on starting a business mid to late career. Thoughtful stories and insights will be shared by panelists from a variety of backgrounds, representing Intelligent InSites, DIY Wood Studio, and Crooked Lane Folk School.

The Kauffman Foundation reports the 55- to 64-year-old age group represents almost one-quarter of new entrepreneurs in 2012, compared to just 14.3 percent in 1996.  In fact, twice as many successful entrepreneurs are over 50 as under 25.  They often don't set out with a grand notion and identity as an entrepreneur.  They set out a step at a time to solve a problem that's in front of them, and in many ways leads to creative new ventures which are undeniably important to the U.S. economy.

The event is FREE and open to the public.  Lunch will be provided; please register via the link below.

This panel discussion is made possible through a partnership between the U.S. Small Business Administration, AARP and SCORE.
