mini Workshop Part I -

"What is Glaze? & How do I Glaze?
That is the question...

Pot-Luck Lunch Break 12:00 - 12:30 

A mini worshop designed for the novice, beginner or intermediate level student who is interested in building a strong foundation of knowledge and understanding of the ceramics processes and materials.

This mini workshop is designed to clearly explain:
1. What a glaze is and how it works
2. A review of basic glazing and decorating techniques
3. How to use the Glaze Room and the equipment

This workshop will be basic in approach, but will give a clear and simple over-view of the essentials necessary to progress further as a potter or scuptor. This fundamental information is basic to all firing techniques, temperatures and methods using either electric or gas kilns 

The workshop will be limited to 20 participants, on a first come, first served basis with a preference given to our members.

How do I fire it?

A mini workshop designed for the novice, beginner or intermediate level student who is interested in building a strong foundation of knowledge and understanding of the ceramics processes and materials.

All about clay:
1. Clay - its origins and varieties
2. Clay Bodies - Stoneware, Porcelain, Raku, etc.
3. Bisque Firing - the critical temperatures for firing

This workshop will be basic in approach, but will give a clear and simple over-view of the essentials necessary to progress further as a potter or scuptor. This fundamental information is basic to all firing techniques, temperatures and methods using either electric or gas kilns 

The workshop will be limited to 20 participants, on a first come, first served basis with a preference given to our members.
