Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Mother’s Day with a Centennial Luncheon at the Willard InterContinental Hotel, two blocks from the White House, for the benefit of The President Woodrow Wilson House.

This year marks the 100^th anniversary of President Wilson’s proclamation of Mother’s Day as a National Holiday.  In celebration of the Centennial, the Willard InterContinental - where President Wilson himself visited and introduced the idea of the League of Nations to the American public - has partnered with The President Woodrow Wilson House in Washington, D.C. to create a memorable Mother’s Day experience.

 The Mother’s Day Centennial Luncheon - The President Woodrow Wilson House with support of the Willard InterContinental, offers a luncheon with dessert buffet for $100 per person, $40 for children 12 and under (children under 5 free) to benefit the President’s historic residence in Washington, D.C. Celebrate the mothers in your life, as well as the centennial of this national holiday, amidst the lavish décor of the Crystal Room. Live music, vintage fashions and an indoor-floral stand will create a one of a kind experience to enjoy with friends and family.

Don’t miss the “Flashback Lobby” inside the Willard Intercontinental during Mother’s Day weekend. Guests will enjoy a 1914 ambiance in the hotel’s grand lobby, with President Wilson himself, courtesy of Madame Tussauds Washington DC; a vintage floral stand designed by Greenworks offering corsages and bouquets for sale; costumed people courtesy of Amalgamated Clothing in Alexandria, Virginia, and musicians offering songs reminiscent of the era. Wine provided by Big Cork Vineyards in Maryland's Pleasant Valley.   

In 1914 President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed the second Sunday in May a nationwide observance of Mother’s Day “as a public expression of our love and reverence for the mothers of our country.”
