Continuing Education

The following continuing education units are in process:

  • Continuing Medical Education (CME): This Live activity, Disaster Preparedness for Healthcare Workers and Those Who Care for Vulnerable Populations, with a beginning date of 10/06/2014 has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 6.00 Prescribed credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
  • Continuing Nursing Education (CNE): UTHealth at Houston School of Nursing is an approved provider of con-tinuing nursing education by the Texas Nurses Association, an accredited approved provider of the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This activity will provide 6.5 contact hours of nursing continuing education.
  • Continuing Professional Education (CPE): We are registered with the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy as a CPE sponsor. This registration does not constitute an endorsement by the board as to the quality of our CPE program. A record has been filed with the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy for 6.5 hours under Course Code 08 Practice Management.
  • Emergency Medical Services (EMS): The Texas Department of State Health Services has awarded 6.5 hours of EMS Continuing Education credit.
  • Industrial Hygiene Certification Maintenance Points (IH CM): Participation in this entire            educational event qualifies for one Category 4 CM point as described by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene Biohazard Rubric.
