Renewing Renewal: How the Work of the Liturgical Renewal Movement is not Over and What We Need to Do About It
In this class we will explore the roots of liturgical renewal, discovering the real watershed that it represents. After unpacking some of the many ramifications of renewal on worship, discipleship and theology we will then evaluate how well the advocates of renewal went about their task and the current state of renewal in our own churches. We will conclude by imagining what the completion of liturgical renewal might mean in the parish, the Christian life and the church in the future.
Twenty contact hours are given for CEUs.
The Rev. Nathan Jennings, J. Milton Richardson associate professor of Liturgics and Anglican Studies will teach this course and looks forward to seeing you on campus.
