"Follow Me"
Answering the Lord's Call to Holiness
Young Adult Retreat

Led by:  Andy Lichtenwalner

“Follow Me”: two simple words which contain everything; two simple words which call for a response.  Even when we forget the Lord or fail to respond, the call never ceases to beckon, for the Lord stops at nothing to seek our hearts and open them to His horizon of love: the gift of self.

The theme of this retreat—“Follow Me”: Answering the Lord’s Call to Holiness—is meant to assist us in growing closer to the Lord and in following Him in the ordinary circumstances of our lives. Extraordinary holiness in the ordinary moments—this is our call. Grounded in the call to holiness, it can especially benefit those who may be discerning a call to a particular state of life, especially marriage, or to a particular form of work, service or ministry.

 About Andy:

Since 2012, Dr. Andrew Lichtenwalner has served as the Executive Director of the Secretariat of Laity, Marriage, Family Life and Youth at the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).  Joining the USCCB in 2006, he began as a catechism specialist and also served as a program specialist for the defense of marriage.  Andrew holds a PhD in Systematic Theology, with a specialization in ecclesiology, from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. He earned an MA in Theology from the University of Dallas and an AB in Religion/Philosophy from the University of Georgia. Andrew resides with his wife and two children in Crofton, MD. He and his wife currently serve as a mentor couple for marriage preparation at their parish. As a fun fact, Andrew’s parents and most of his siblings are originally from Seattle, WA, with his mother’s side of the family having roots which go back to Seattle’s founding.
